These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WasteNot mobile application ("App") operated by Rouxbee LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
WasteNot is a food waste reduction app that uses AI to help you identify ingredients from photos of your refrigerator or pantry and generate recipe suggestions based on what you have on hand. Features include ingredient scanning, pantry management, recipe generation, recipe saving, community recipe sharing, and optional cloud sync of your data across devices via a user account.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App.
You may use WasteNot without an account (guest mode), but certain features — including cloud sync of pantry and saved recipes across devices — require creating an account. You may register with an email address and password or sign in using Apple or Google.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at Support@rouxbee.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We reserve the right to disable accounts that we believe pose a security risk or violate these Terms.
To request deletion of your account and associated cloud data, contact us at Support@rouxbee.com. Data stored locally on your device is not affected by account deletion and will remain until you delete the App.
Free Tier. WasteNot is free to download and use. Free accounts may save up to 5 recipes. All other features, including ingredient scanning, recipe generation, and pantry management, are available at no charge.
WasteNot Pro. A WasteNot Pro subscription removes the saved recipe limit (unlimited saves) and may include additional features as they are added. WasteNot Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple's App Store.
Billing. All purchases are processed by Apple. Prices are shown in the App at the time of purchase and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current price.
Managing and Cancelling Subscriptions. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings in the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain Pro access until then. We do not offer refunds for unused subscription periods except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policy.
Free Trials. If a free trial is offered, unused portions of the trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
By using WasteNot, you agree to:
If you submit content to WasteNot (such as recipe ratings, written reviews, or community recipes), you grant Rouxbee LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, and use that content within the App and related services. You retain ownership of content you create.
Scan Photos and AI Training. When you use the Scan feature to photograph your fridge or pantry, you grant Rouxbee LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to store those photos and the ingredient labels you confirm from each scan, and to use that data to train, evaluate, and improve AI and machine-learning models for ingredient detection. Photos are stored without any personally identifying information. By using the Scan feature, you acknowledge and agree to this use.
You are solely responsible for any content you submit. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful, offensive, or inappropriate.
Recipes and ingredient suggestions generated by WasteNot are produced by artificial intelligence and are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, safety, or nutritional accuracy of AI-generated content. Always use your own judgment when preparing food, particularly regarding food allergies, dietary restrictions, and safe food handling. Do not rely solely on AI-generated recipes for medical or dietary needs.
The WasteNot name, logo, app design, and all original content created by Rouxbee LLC are the property of Rouxbee LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the App without our prior written consent.
The App integrates with third-party services including Anthropic's Claude AI, Supabase (authentication and data storage), and Cloudflare (infrastructure and recipe database). Your use of these services through the App is also subject to their respective terms and policies. All in-app purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's terms. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROUXBEE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rouxbee LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Cloud data associated with your account may be deleted. Locally stored data on your device will remain until you delete the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts located in Colorado.
